В мероприятии приняли участие председатель комитета Тульской области по мобилизационной подготовке Игорь Бедринец, депутат Тульской областной Думы Алексей Альховик, заместитель председателя Тульской городской Думы Алексей Ионов, ветераны Военно-морского флота, представители ветеранских и общественных организаций региона, учащиеся и другие.
От имени депутатов регионального парламента к участникам мероприятия обратился депутат Тульской областной Думы Алексей Альховик.
– Уже 114 лет прошло с того дня, когда крейсер «Варяг» и канонерская лодка «Кореец» сражались с врагом и отстаивали честь России, – сказал Алексей Альховик. – В этом неравном бою наши соотечественники доказали, что русские моряки способны бороться и побеждать в любых условиях.
– Я хочу, чтобы вы, наши дети, – сказал депутат, обращаясь к молодому поколению, – помнили обо всех подвигах наших предков и учились у них патриотизму и любви к Родине. Последние события в мире в очередной раз показывают, что наши воины – настоящие герои, которые готовы умиреть за Родину и выполнить любой приказ Отчизны.
Участники митинга возложили венок и цветы к подножию памятника В.Ф. Рудневу и минутой молчания почтили память русских моряков.
